Rieva and Brian talk to Paul Cary, Founder of Tattoo Fun, about the changes he made in and to his business since the beginning of 2020. Tattoo Fun is a great example of a small business navigating its way through the pandemic.
Four Observations From Paul:
- Hiring the right people with strong customer service skills was important to me. They help us better define our company culture.
- Thanks to Zoho, when a customer calls us from 10 years ago, his record pops up on our screen. We can see all his information and say, “Hi Joe. Gosh, I haven’t heard from you in 10 years.”
- We were a virtual company before the pandemic hit which helped us not having to deal with setting everyone up for remote work. I can’t see our company going back to an office environment; it simply doesn’t make sense for my business.
- I miss the events and festivals, but I don’t see them coming back in 2020. We have pivoted our business to focus on in-person events coming back some time in 2021.
